Hudson Bay Company to auction its royal charter

If there ever was a time for government intervention this is it (I can’t believe I’ve said that, but desperate times require desperate actions). It would be more than a national disgrace if some billionaire were to acquire it, especially an orange one. Look at the one who acquired the HBC and ground it down into bankruptcy, an asset stripper no more no less.

It was sold in 2006.
Yes, HBC was sold to an America company 2006. The charter remained in HBC's headquarters in Toronto until now. The beef is that it can be sold as a company asset following bankruptcy. It may then physically leave Canada via public auction which should not be allowed to happen to such a significant historical document related to Canada.

HBC now has judicial approval from an Ontario judge to auction all remaining historically important artifacts in its possession. This should not be allowed considering their historical importance to the history of Canada. They should go into government achieves to be preserved or future generations of Canadians.
