Very nice! Yep heard good things about the smokey mountain and it was one I researched. Out of interest, any tips on what type of wood to use in the smoker? I'm thinking either oak (generally quite light) or cherry. Will experiment with hickory when cooking for myself. Not sure guests would be happy waiting hours for bad food :)
I dont really have any tips as I'm still a smoking novice, but I have a few bags of wood chip. I like all of the wood types, particularly apple wood. It depends what you are smoking and how strong/sweet you want it. The thing I need now are wood chunks not chips, as I'm smoking for longer I need bigger chunks. Many places on line are stupidly expensive, so I'm hoping a friend who cuts down lots of trees can get me some oak..... Not got around to asking yet though.

Matt if I find anything worthwhile I'll PM you. My parents are lucky enough to have a private lake and forest at the back (in London!)

Went foraging in my lunch break and picked up some damson wood and several others. Plenty of wood around just need to bring my axe next time. Can anyone recommend a good axe?
