In the 1980's I worked in a UK office with a lovely Canadian guy, who was the office joker and thought he was the king of windups. He always boasted that he'd never be caught out because he was too sharp and he'd spot it straight away.
And so it was until one day, someone innocently asked him which part of America he was from and he reacted angrily that he wasn't American , but a proud Canadian !!
Aha ! i thought, a button to press ... So did my oppo and so it began.
Subtly asking if it was ok for us to be away first week in July, because we thought he might be taking the week off too for Independence Day ?
Asking if they used American Dollars ? ... and i guess that your parliament has to get Reagans approval for anything major ?
Getting other staff to ask "So is Canada like an independent American State kind of like Hawaii is ??"
And so on, and so on.... for several months !!, with us carefully not overloading it.
He did see the funny side of it when he spotted us grinning one day and the penny dropped
I guess in the current climate it wouldn't go down well .....
