YMMV as in all things, but here in the UK the vaccine is free, and if you're in the vulnerable age group, there's no reason not to get the jab.

I feared that vaccine hesitancy here would prove troublesome and I was concerned at the lack of support for other parts of the world at a point when I was already booking a third dose (Moderna, it turned out). But the scientific consensus was that the vaccine was an appropriate means of protecting myself, my community and wider society.”

The only fear I have is that the Christmas celebrations today may be such that my shaving hand may shake a little tomorrow morning, and it'll be "claret" at breakfast time. If I need to greet my Boxing Day guests in Christmassy mode, I'd prefer to have the full Santa white beard rig out, rather than cotton wool tufts tinged with red.
