eBay - worth paying for promotions?

I’m listing an item on eBay and the offer is 9% commission to promote the listing. Does anyone have experience to say whether it’s worth it or not?

I have never paid for the promotions and everything sold pretty quickly.
Keep your money in your pocket, you can always change your mind later if its still hanging around.
