I was offered and sent this novel design by Caveem, and last week I opened up the box and tried it for the first time on my YouTube channel. Overall I'd say it's a decent enough tool. For me, three things stand out that make it worthwhile:
1. Efficiency — for such a light-weight razor, this thing is surprisingly efficient. I'm not sure what it's crafted from (probably aluminum), but I get a BBS shave with it with no nicks or irritation.
2. Design — the base plate has a novelty that addresses the issue of overhang: raised ends that not only cover those pesky wing flaps, but help secure the blade in place even more firmly. That blade isn't going to move at all!
3. Price — ranges from ten to twenty dollars and you get a five-count tuck of blades with it, making it ideal as a travel razor that can be easily replaced if lost, stolen, or confiscated. The blades are labeled 'superior platinum', and let me tell you, they feel very much like Astras!
So yeah, I definitely recommend the Caveem razor. has anyone else tried it? What were your thoughts?
