The above recommendations are all very good. Unfortunately, because of the wildfires that have been burning in British Columbia, there is a very dense haze everywhere around the Vancouver area and the air is contaminated with small particles that are causing some minor breathing issues for folks with respiratory problems. I hope it doesn't detract from your visit, but unless this clears in the next few days, you won't be able to appreciate the natural beauty that Vancouver and its surrounding areas have to offer, especially, from a higher elevation vantage point.
Also, you should really visit the Fish Hatchery in North Vancouver, located a few minutes form Capilano Suspension Bridge. The area around the Hatchery is quite beautiful and a bit more isolated.
Other places to visit is hiking up the Chief, located near Shannon Falls. It is a very well-known rock-climbing rock face. Also, Seymour Mountain has some amazing trails to hike, as the famous Grouse Mountain Grind, which is a challenge and lovely hike up the respective mountain. Lynn Headwaters Park is also very beautiful.
There are just too many things to do here that you will never be able to do them all in the time you will be here, even if it is for 9 weeks. Trust me as I have been here for 22 years and I still discover beautiful little areas, all of the time.
Good luck with your trip.
