... but what to do with those cables?

Finally got the Playbar up on the wall. And now the cables... not sure if I can manage to sneak them into the wall and down? Depends on what’s behind, obviously. Or cover them up with something and paint it the same colour as the wall? Suggestions?

Please don’t mind the grey bench. We used to have it outside and it’s only an interim solution until we find a proper piece of furniture. (Only lived here since late 2016. Doh...)

It all depends on what type of wall you have, if it's solid and dosent sound hollow you could chase a channel out for the wires then you place a protective strip infront of the wires and plaster it over.
If it sounds hollow you may be able to drill two holes, one behind the tv and one just above the skirting board and using a string and weight feed in through the top hole and fish the string out and with the wires tied to the other end of the string pull the wires through. ( this will only work if you have no horizontal batons where the wire is running.
I think there are some fairly flat plastic strips you could put your wires behind and then paint to match but it won't be invisible like the other methods.

I opted for cable trunking and then painted the trunking the same colour as the wall, pretty much what @Blademonkey has suggested as one possible option.

I've done the same too. It blends into the background and has the advantage of making it straightforward to swap out cables if required

When I lived in Norway for 6 years I always noticed that Norwegians love being inside in the warm ("koselig") and equally loved being outside in nature. The result of this was that the insides of their homes were filled with plants to make them feel they were outside, and the outsides of the house were made of wood and painted in warm colours like dark pink to make them feel they were inside.

So to hide cables, I think you need to disguise them as a plant - paint them brown and glue some green leaves on them. A few flowers in Spring would also look nice. And if possible get a squirrel to run up and down them.

I think it looks fine the way it is. My question is if the TV is now on the wall and the sound bar is also mounted to the wall and you don't have any stereo equipment, why would you need to replace the gray bench with anything? Why have a piece of furniture there at all? I have one large screen tv that sits on it's stand on a nice cabinet that also houses stereo equipment for music and surround sound. Can't see any wires with the center channel blocking any evidence of cables. And the one in the man cave down stairs does have some cables that are in view leading from the surround stereo system and Nintendo. But I don't care about seeing two or three cables. Doesn't bother me.

Just use a wire channel.
You can paint it in any color you like, but even if you leave them white are not so bad.

Oh, the spaghetti is there. Only, with the Samsung Connect box or whatever they call it, only one cable needs to go into the TV (plus power), leaving the spaghetti by the floor. I also have an Apple TV and a switch. These TV sets have terrible WiFi receivers, however, so to ensure a stable connection, I’ve cabled it. Thus, three cables going into the TV.

Why have a piece of furniture there at all?

I think the above responds to your question and that something to conceal the mess is called for.

Apart from the part about dark pink houses (which I seldom see?), spot on! I could use cables, sound bar and TV as an espalier, that would solve all of my problems, including screen time...

Those 2 grey channels underneath separate ac/dc and rf cables. Also keeps them off the floor.

I'm sure you know the colour I mean - it's like coral or maroon. Dark brownish red. There must be thousands of wooden Scandinavian houses painted this colour. Probably just called "Rødt hus"
