I wonder what the ratio is of face latherers who prefer a two-band badger brush to bowl latherers who prefer silvertip brushes?

I prefer two-band badger brush, but I have also a Whipped Dog Silvertip 24 x 48 and it work very well

Lather bowl every time for me. If anything ever happened to my Fine lather bowl I'd replace it in a heartbeat.

Great weight, good size handle for excellent grip and those base and vertical ridges help whip up the thickest lather ever!

I'm with you there, my wife bought me the exact same bowl last week! Fantastic bit of kit.

I've begun doing both for most of my shaves. I start out with the bowl, then move to my face to adjust how much water is needed. Often it's not necessary, and I do get the feeling that it's a "bad" habit I should probably avoid, 'cos it's neither one nor t'other.

100% face these days, can't be bothered fannying around with a bowl. I only use cold water too, but that's another thread...
