Best Budget Safety Razor

Just for fun and to possibly help those who are new to wet shaving, what are some of the best budget safety razors you have used or know about? Where did you buy them?
To start this conversation, I will list my razors. When I just started wet shaving in May, I bought a Dorco Prime Starter Kit from Amazon for around 30 USD. It came with a razor, 30 Dorco Prime Platinum blades and a plastic travel case. This razor has become my main driver, the razor that I use most often. Also in May or June, I bought a Parker 91R and a Vikings Blade the Crusader razor both also purchased from amazon and both in that 30 USD range.

My predictable answer:
Vintage.
In the UK you can pick up a 1912 in very good condition for under a tenner.
A minute ago, while writing this post there was a knock on the door and I received a boxed Eversharp Fashion Razor (Schick H1) that I bought for a fiver. My third one. There are very few better razors if any.
If you want to be a bit more mainstream (i.e. DE) - a Gillette Tech can be had for very little money. Good enough for generations before us, still good enough today.
If you're lucky you can get a Schick Krona at a good price. Great shavers.
There are many other vintage razors that can be had for little money. They are cheap, good and environmentally friendly if that's important to anyone.
Stay clear of what the collectors are after and go for "common as muck". Then you will have a classy, cheap and close shave.

I do not know if https://wetshavingclub.com/ ships outside of USA but they offer 3 levels of razors plus 50 or 100 Tatara blades that start at $24 USD for chrome plated razor, 40USD for all SS razor made in China and the Merica razor made by Yates Precision of 316 SS for 80USD. I have the Merica and it is a wonderfully smooth razor that gives a 3 pass BBS every time

For a beginner? You must be joking! R89 Twist.
Yes - for a beginner. Exactly that. I went through everything from a Tech to several Old Types and other Gillettes to a Rockwell (yuk) to........

Wasted a good 6 months and ended up selling the lot. If I had started with a R41 I wouldn't have wasted all that time and money.

The idea that you have to start with mild razors is simply wrong. You should start where you want to end up. Go directly to your razor. If it turns out that your preferred razor is a mild one, then starting with mild is correct. If your preferred razor is efficient you are simply throwing money away.

Big question - how do you know which razor is going to suit you? Well, several ways to do this. An adjustable or a Rockwell should give you some idea, though you might end up selling either or both. But rather than start mild you could start with a R41 and if that's too efficient, them go slightly milder. It's a perfectly valid way of finding out your preferred level of efficiency and I wish I'd done that from the start.

When I first started wet shaving I started with milder razors to gain confidence, as my experience grew I moved to more aggressive razors, but now I find myself reaching for mild to mid aggressive razors most days as I can get an easy, smooth BBS shave with them, that I couldn’t get when I first started.

Take a vote. You'll probably find that you're in the minority. Most people don't want someone's first wet shave to be their last wet shave.
