Could you please share how you made that shim @MPF9?
I would like to try to make one.


My memory a bit hazy, but cut blade width strips of thinnest plastic I had to jack up the blade, and it worked.

Take a look at some of the videos this guy made. There are a few using the ATT G1 with and without a shim. Shows his plastic shim after the shave. Appears to be thin plastic in the shape of a GEM blade. I keep meaning to try and make one myself.

Okay, I went quick and dirty and made a shim out of a de-spined old GEM blade. Just turned the edge back, it was fully covered by the spine of the current blade, no hazard at all.
Well, it upped the efficiency for sure. 3-pass almost-BBS shave. I'm going to make a 'proper' plastic shim. I imagine, it should be slightly thicker.

Thanks for the update. I want to try making a plastic shim as well but unsure just how thick the plastic ought to be.
