I'm curious about this also. After reviewing my den, I realize that I don't have a good fougere splash other than maybe Floid blue.

Cheap n' cheerful; Brute original is my fougere standard, love it.

To my nose the blue splashes are cologne leaning toward aquatic more than a fougere. However, take that with a pinch of salt as my nose is far from sophisticated.

OSP fougere or P&B Coda goes really well with Brute IMO
Flood or myrsol blue seems to do the trick with P&B Trafalgar

Just a pity Penhaligon's no longer sell aftershave as English fern and Douro would have been good candidates.

Have to agree with James @Dr Watson .. Azzaro PH is great and Penhaligons English Fern was really good also Paco Rabanne PH and Penhaligons Sartorial are other good options.
If you want a cheaper "Aromatic Fougere" there is Brut..it's cheap but a classic and I believe Tabac by Maurer &Wirtz is classed as a Fougere though you probably know it's a very polarisng scent. I think it's great, personally. Oh and of course Frank Sinatra's favourite Agua Lavanda by Antonio Puig.

My favourite fougere way back then was Drakkar, not the newer Noir version but just Drakkar, also had Azzaro and Paco Rabanne before getting tired of fougere moving over to Chanel Antaeus.
