Has anyone here used this shaving soap? Is its fragrance like that of the cologne?

Yes John. I presume you are talking about the one in the large fancy plastic bowl (blue + green colours) with yellow writing if I am not wrong.
That was contained in an equally large paper box.
I have also had the matching after shave lotion, which comes in a 200-250ml dispenser plastic bottle and contains Basil.
I purchased them in Genova, Italy. I have since then sold both items.
In my previous employment I was visiting Genova every Christmas, for the annual meetings.

Assuming we are talking about the same soap, my comments are as follows:
- Lathering ability significantly well below average, not recommended actually;
- Protection significantly well below average, not recommended actually;
- Scent is one of the best ones around, profile: light floral + slight AdP scent combo, a pleasure to sniff;
- Nothing else noteworthy to report, it's a veggie soap and its overall properties are quite poor (in my humble opinion).
I would not recommend you to get or worry about getting this soap (unless you've found a NOS set for $5 or thereabouts).
The aftershave was better, its scent was a tad worse (basil spoiled the scent profile abit), but the moisturizing effect on the skin was pretty good following application.
I have not tried the cologne, therefore cannot comment on the resemblance of its scent profile to that of the shaving soap.
