Don't pay a fortune for soap, no need it'll all do the job. I admire your reasons by the way and have just told the missus I intend to do the same, Never used shower gel as a kid when life was simple, so I'll join you in going back to soap and I'll get a shampoo bar to boot.

Good man Wayne ,Looked in the plastics bin and it’s scarey the amount of room shower gel plastics take up ,I won’t need the shampoo bar though lol

If you are looking to treat yourself, I'd say try the big Scottish Fine Soaps bath bars in either au lait or honey versions. The oatmeal version is not too shabby either.

Can't blame your wife for not liking pine tar soap. We used to use pine tar on horses hooves when I was a kid. IIRC it was not a pleasant smell.

I've only used Shampoo Bars/Soap now for months/(years?).
I've used many, Funky soap, Dr Harris, African Black seed (fantastic!) Currently using Elemis soap that I nabbed from a Hotel recently. Nice on both hair and body.
Another I've used is FRENCH SAVON DE MARSEILLE soap, can be found cheaply on Ebay.

I used that Imperial Leather bar.

The lather was similar to shave lather.
Damn me, what they have put inside.

I must grab a 12-pack.

Yardley English lavender and yardley lemon verbena bar soaps. Picked up from poundland and the original factory shop. The made in USA stock is tallow based. Both have a great scent and last ages.
