1. Gillette Contour Plus
2. Gillette Mach 3
3. Gillette Fusion Proglide
I do have a fair bit of cartridge razors:
(I should update this photo as there are probably 10 more at this time)
I've realized I'm not much of a Mach 5 user - I prefer two blade carts.
I'd say my top three carts would be;
1) Wilkinson Kompakt
2) Wilkinson Protector
3) Wilkinson Royale
Gillette Sensor Gold
Truefitt and Hill. Such a nice handle I can forget what cart is on it
Gillette Mach 3
Wilkinson Sword tech 3
Gillette Contour (old metal handle with Russian Slalom blades)
I've never had a good experience with anything more than 2 blades.
These are head shavers for me
After the first month of DE shaving I put all cartridge razors in the bin..... did I make a mistake?
Fusion and Mach 3 are on par for me.
Gillette slaloms were brilliant but no longer available
I had a cracking TOBS Gillette Sensor Excel with an elegant wooden handle and it served me well for around 10 years. If it wasn't for the cost of carts and the fact that DE had this huge pull to my old-fashioned/traditional sensibilities, I'd have quite happily continued with it.
Mach 3 give good results but was crap at defining sideburns and more unwieldy under the nose than the Sensor.
Gillette Contour Plus (old aluminium handle) - needed the proper Gillette blades as the supermarket own brand jobs were brutal and more akin to shaving with broken glass. Not as smooth or as easy to get close compared to said Sensor or Mach 3. I think a lot of this however, boiled down to technique and I reckon I'd be much better with it now. Ain't going back though....
Probably in that order.
1. Schick Quattro
2. Feather MR3 Neo
3. Gillette Mach 3
Don't use any of these very often these days, but will take the Schick or the Feather with me as my travel razor (as in flying).
Snap! Did the same, looks like I may have had a good customer @Darkbulb Lol That is some collection you have, can't work out if I'm impressed or shocked.
A little bit from column A and a little bit from column B
Yes that's it.
I've got a Wilkinson Bonded and loads of carts for it but yet to get round to trying it.
These were good as well...Very smooth when I tried them. I'll be very generous though and say the design and packaging was very of it's time...
It's a rather nice experience going back to carts once you've worked on your technique with a DE / SE / Straight and pair them with decent soap.
