A busy very long day today in Cardiff, finishing with the Royal British Legion Festival of Rememberance in St David's Hall. No room for mistakes so I went with a shimmed Clog Pruf for a smooth irritation free 3 pass BBS shave
Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Ah! Today I've done Fougére Gothique,
Employed my Vie-Long silvertip,
And Edwin Jagger Double Edge.
Had no fierce pains, thanks to red Tüff.
Now here I am, a fool for sure!
Much smoother than I was before.
But I must say I wasn't entirely happy with the soap, more specifically with the technical aspect of lathering it. It's my first Reserve-base soap in a full tub rather than a sample size, and it's very soft. So much so that only two swirls in, the brush already started pushing lumps of soap around. Other soft soaps I know (L&L, Black Ship Grooming) are much easier to handle. Is this normal? Do I have to use this like a proper cream, or should I leave it open to dry out for a few days?

GEM contour + gem blade
Though I use a Shim in some older Razors, I thought the modern Gem blade was designed to fit The MM Range of Razors so a shim would not be needed. Have you tried it without a Shim, if so how did you feel the Shave was in comparison to one using a shim.
I used an OCMM today, found it hard work around the chin compared with a 1924/Streamline.
Safety Razor: Wolfman - Guerrilla 316L

04 November 2017
Preshave: Hot water rinse + bloom water
Razor: Gillette Rocket HD (1953/54)
Blade: Perma-sharp (1)
Brush: New Forest Badger
Shave Soap: Wickham 1912 LE Bleu
Aftershave Balm: Body Shop Maca Root balancing face protector
Aftershave: M&S Harvard
The Perma-sharp is normally a very effective blade for me, which doesn't seem to get the recognition it deserves, but today's performance fell somewhat short. Four passes and much more touch-up work than usual still leaves me near BBS with a smile the rain can't wash off.
Have a good weekend.
