Evening Gents,

Prep: Hot shower with L'Oreal charcoal face wash
Razor: Hone 15
Razor blade: Polsilver
Brush: LS Finest
Soap: Eufros Gea
Post: Thayers witch hazel and Dove sensitive aftershave balm

Firstly a big thank you to @Lann who completely out of the blue contacted me and offered to send me his Hone to try. Thank Paul you are a star.

OK what did I think of the Hone?
First off it's a beautiful looking razor. Second it's very heavy. More on that in a moment.
The shave was very smooth and not as mild as I was expecting. I had 5 days of growth so I thought the Hone might struggle but it coped admirably.
I struggled a little on my top lip but after a couple of passes I got there.

Back to the weight of the razor. I think it maybe too heavy for me. This was my first time using it so I'm sure it's something you can get used to.

A very satisfying and irritation free shave. Looking forward to the next shave already. Which can only be a good sign.

Have a great weekend chaps.

Thanks again to Paul for his generosity and trust. I really appreciate it.

Cheers
Rob

I looked up the weight of the Hone. 165 grams! That's more than the Stainless Mongoose (I think). Heavy equipment indeed! It's largely about getting used to it.

And a good weekend to you too!

After the disappointing shave with the Wilkinson last time,
I thought I give it another go today.

A little Stirling Black Ice in the Warm scuttle scratchings gave that lovely thick creamy lather I so do like. And that sent,
okay you have to be in the mood for it, but if you are, WHAUWW it's there...

In all honesty it wasn't a bad shave perhaps the Rapire blade helpt?
Three pases and what after work gave a smooth result.
MAN balm for the skin and Calvin Klein ONE for the finish.

Ready for a cappuccino with the misses ....

Have a nice day everyone.

Omega 11137 boar
Lea Classic Soap
PAL Injecto- Matic
Schick S/S Single [ 10-japan ]
Alum Rub/Rinse Off
Lea Classic A/S lotion

Always very good when you find a Razor /Blade combination that works for you.The Japanese Schick blade seems to calm down the PAL a bit, turning it into an extremely efficient but smooth razor. I have now completed 10 V.Good Shaves , and the blade still seems
to be good to have further Shaves, and I normally get 8/9 uses from a blade.

Now I know why for a long time the PAL has been in my Top 4 Vintage Injectors, will have to try this blade in other Razors.
