I have both baseplates and both handles in polished. Nothing in my den shaves like it. The blade feel is incredible. And the finish is superb. No, the BB and i are inseparable.

My last shave with the Blackbird SB I used a Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless (Green) and got a wonderful, smooth, close shave. Personally I haven't found any of my favourite blades to not work in it. I think it was recommended to use a Personna Lab blue in the Blackbird, which is why when you order one, Shane sends 5 of these with the razor.
I have used these, Nacets, Rubies, Polsilvers, Astras, Perma Sharps and 7 O'Clocks (Green and Yellow) all with super results!

I prefer Feathers but the blade exposure requires strict attention.

Yeah, guys, a very great razor. Perhaps Med-Prep and Kai are the nicest. I paired the razor with a Stork Hedgehog in SS (made for Blackbird). I have both SB and OC now (thanks to @carbold ).
